Foreign Languages Press in Europe recently acquired a rare, original print edition of an important document of the Ultra-Super-Duper Great Leap Forward Student Organization (USDGLFSO), titled “On the Great Debate to Cast Off Revisionism in Our Organization,” and will be auctioning it on eBay as a fundraiser. The USDGLFSO lasted for a few months in the Spring of 1971 and consisted of three college students at the University of Tokyo in Japan. Despite their brief existence and small membership, the USDGLFSO found the time to chronicle, in this document, a vociferous internal line struggle over the revolutionary teachings of Mao Zedong. This internal line struggle seems to have been the organization’s principal activity. Few other traces of the USDGLFSO’s existence and no summation of its practice have survived, making it an important historical reference point for people in imperialist countries who started calling themselves Maoists on the internet in the last decade.

While the lucky winner of the eBay auction will get their hands on the original print edition of the USDGLFSO’s “On the Great Debate to Cast Off Revisionism in Our Organization,” Foreign Languages Press in Europe will release the text online, translated into multiple languages, a month after the auction is completed. FLP Europe believes this text will further its mission of helping make a new generation of Maoists in the imperialist countries who are completely unable to apply communist theory and lessons from history to making revolution in the present.
